Dental Office Pre-Construction Phase

Prior to your dental office construction, we talk with you extensively about your vision for your dental office to determine what type of construction is necessary—renovation, upfit, or new construction. After establishing the type of project that will work best for you, we generally follow this plan:

  • Establish a dental construction budget. One of the most important parts of a dental office construction project is creating and adhering to a budget that you are comfortable with and that allows us to give you the end result you want. We will always provide the most cost-effective solutions for your dental construction project.
  • Find an appropriate site. For new dental construction, we will assist you with site selection and will help you find a real estate broker to handle the transaction.
  • Determine the staff, office, and equipment needs for your building. We will collect information regarding your staff size, office space needs, and other details about your business. And, more importantly, we will discuss your plans for dental equipment.
  • Create a relationship with your dental supply company. The best way for us to ensure that your dental office is perfectly suited for your equipment is to work closely with your dental supply company.
  • Design your project. Our architect has worked alongside the Cunningham-Waters team to create many outstanding dental office construction projects. We will use his services to create a dental construction project perfect for you. And, with our computer-assisted design process, we will work with you on interior selections, from trim work to windows. This process also helps determine if any adjustments need to be made to the budget to accommodate any changes.

Dental Office Construction Phase

The dental construction phase of any project begins only when the budget and design plans have your approval and all parties are satisfied with the projected date of completion and other important details.   When your dental office construction commences, you can be certain that we will handle every detail professionally and keep you updated on the progress. Additionally, you will benefit from:

  • A full-time superintendent. We are proud to have experienced superintendents on-site, managing every aspect of your dental construction project and functioning as your go-to person for any question or issue that arises. Many of our superintendents have been with us for over 30 years.
  • Safe operations. Our team strives to maintain a safe working environment for all dental contractors and others visiting the site, and, in fact, we have won several awards for our excellent safety record.
  • Our equipment. We are a turn-key dental construction company—we handle everything internally aside from electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, and we even own our equipment. This means we have a more efficient construction process because we don’t have to waste time waiting for a loaned piece of equipment to arrive.
  • Our communication with your dental supply company. We will talk frequently to your dental supply companies to be certain that your essential equipment is installed properly.
  • Our flexibility. Our previous dental clients will say that we are easy to work with and flexible. If you decide to change something about your dental construction project mid-construction, we will work with you to find a solution.

“Some construction companies say they can handle a dental construction project, but if they don’t understand the importance of the dental equipment and its installation, the project is over before it begins. This is where experience matters—and we’ve got it.”
- Michael Redmon, Senior Project Manager, Cunningham-Waters
